December 2012: Gingerbread

Gingerbread

2 1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup tub margarine or butter
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup molasses

1.  Preheat oven to 350F.
2.  Mix dry ingredients together.
3.  Blend in margarine, water, and molasses until smooth.
4.  Pour batter into an oiled and floured 9x9 baking pan.
5.  Bake for 45 minutes or until the gingerbread springs
     back when lightly touched in the center.

Enjoy with a cup of your favorite warm beverage.
